Climbing the stairs to the top of Mount Bromo to watch the sunrise is not too much. But playing around in the open mouth and then crawling down stepping on bare feet on frozen magma to carve the name and then perpetuate it, maybe it can only be done in Bromo and nowhere else.

Mount Bromo (Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park)
Mount Bromo is in the natural preservation area of Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park (TNBTS) and is the most spectacular and easily visited National Park among other National Parks in Indonesia which is located between 1,000 – 3,676 meters above sea level.
The Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park area is located in a series of volcanic mountains which is one of a large series of mountains that stretches along the island of Java.
In the northern part of the Tengger mountains, there is a very beautiful and attractive Tengger caldera, the diameter reaches 8-10 kilometers, while the steep walls are between 200-700 meters high.
Mount Bromo is located in the conservative area of Bromo Tanger Semeru National Park and is considered to be the most spectacular and easily accessible national park in Indonesia, among others, which stretches from 1,000 to 3,676 meters.
The Park is located on a chain of volcanoes stretching along Java Island. To the north of Tanger is a caldera that is so beautiful and enchanting, with a diameter of 8–10 km, while the height of the steep wall ranges from 200–700 meters.
The base of the Tengger Caldera in the form of a sea of sand covering 5,290 ha, there is Mount Bromo (2,392 m), Mount Batok (2,470 m), Mount Kursi (3,392 m), Mount Wanaka (2,601 m), and Mount Widodaren (2,600 m).
Mount Bromo is an active mountain which at certain times emits smoke. Besides tourism purposes, Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park also functions for Research, Development of Science, Education, Conservation and Development of Nature Love.
The base of Tengger Caldera consists of sands (sea of sands) as large as 5,529 ha, where lies Mount Bromo (2,392 m), Mount Batok (2,470 m), Mount Seats (3,392 m), Mount Wabung (2,601 m), and Mount Widodaren (2,600 m). Mount Bromo is still an active volcano that usually smokes at a certain time.
In addition to its purpose for tourism, Bromo Tanger Semeru National Park has yet to function: research, scientific development, education, conservation and the development of human love for nature.
As in general with other National Parks in Indonesia, the management of this National Park is carried out by Bromo Tanger Semeru National Park with its office in Malang is the Technical Implementation Unit (UPT) of the Directorate of Forest Conservation and Nature Conservation, Ministry of Forests.

According to Schmidt and Ferguson, the type of climate in the Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park is classified as type C and D. While the rainy season lasts from October to March. Average temperatures range from 7-18 degrees Celsius.
Forest vegetation type Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park is a type of Mountain Rain Forest consisting of Tall Forest, Elfin Forest, Fir Forest, Grassland and Caldera vegetation. Plants that are often found are Cemara (Casuarina junghuhniana), Acacia (acacia decurens), Mentigi (Vaccinium varingaefolium), Fennel (Anethum graveolens), Senduro or Tengger people called Tanalayu flowers and also often referred to as Edelwise flowers (Anaphalis javanica), and Fennel (Anethum graveolens), Senduro or Tengger people called Tanalayu flowers and also often referred to as Edelwise flowers (Anaphalis javanica), and Fennel (Anethum graveolens), Senduro or to the Tengger community called Tanalayu flowers and also often referred to as Edelwise flowers (Anaphalis javanica) various types of natural orchids in the southern Semeru region.

Average temperatures range between 7–18 (degrees) centigrade. The vegetation type of the Park is Mountain Rain Forest which consist of High Forest, Alfins, Fir, Prairie and Caldera vegetation.
The most noticeable plants are Cemara (Casuarina Junghuhniana), Accasia (Accasia Decurens), Mentigi (Vaccinium Varingae Folium), Fennel (Anethum Graveolens), Senduro which is called Tanalayu flower by the Tenggerese or Edelwise (Anaphalis Javanica), and some kinds of wild orchids in South Semeru area.
Fauna that are often found are deer (Cervus timorensis), deer (Muntiacus muntjak), Budeng (Presbytis cristata), Pita Birds (Pitta guajana), Rangkok (Rhyticeros undulatus), Bido (Spilomis cheela bido), and Budib (Presbytis cristata), Pita Birds (Pitta guajana), Rangkok (Rhyticeros undulatus), Bido (Spilomis cheela bido), and Belibis (Anas supercosa).
Notable faunas in this park area include Deers (Cervus timorensis), Kijangs (Muntiacus Muncak), Budeng / Black Monkey (Presbytis Cristata), Pitta Bird (Pitta Guajana), Rangkok (Rhysticeros Undulatus), Bido (Spilomischa). Grouse (Anus supercilosa).
The main gate leads to the Sand Sea and Mount Bromo via Cemorolawang. This area is the busiest tourist area, especially on holidays. Some activities can be done in this area, among others: camping, enjoying the natural scenery, horse riding to the Sea of Sand or walking.
To get to the peak of Mount Bromo, one can take the stairs there provided. The crater of Mount Bromo is largely open with a belch of smoke expelling from its bottom, showing that the mountain is still active.

To reach the Cemorolawang area the route is used: Probolinggo – Tongas / Ketapang – Sukapura – Ngadisari approximately 42 kilometers using private or public vehicles to Ngadisari. While from Ngadisari – Cemorolawang approximately 3 kilometers can walk or use a Jeep vehicle.
